Radial thickeners

Thickeners (seals) of sludge and silt are widely used as part of technological and other wastewater treatment plants.

They are usually installed before mechanical sludge dewatering plants: frame filter presses, belt filter presses and centrifuges in order to achieve a higher concentration of sludge before the dewatering stage and reduce the volume of sludge (sludge) for processing.

At metallurgical enterprises, thickeners are used to reduce the volume of abrasive scale before feeding into decanter centrifuges, as well as to process the sludge before burning it at biogas preparation plants.

The radial thickener is a cylindrical container in the center of which there is a bridge with an electric drive rotating sets of plates (rakes).

The bottom of the container has a conical shape, and the packages of plates are designed to gradually thicken the sediment to its center.

The installation is equipped with a set of protective automation that provides lifting of the rake in case of accumulation of pulp and increasing load on them.
